Imagine a place that is both formal and friendly. Where the cuisine is tasty and heart-healthy and the menu changes daily. With a professional staff that stays on top of every detail. Surrounded by a sense of style and security.

Ida Culver House Broadview

Ida Culver House Broadview is a community of 245 month-to-month retirement living apartments, along with a 74-bed Nursing Care Center. For all its fine features, however, the most important aspect of Ida Culver House Broadview is the people who live and work here. In everything we've done-from architecture to activities, from staff to services-we've aspired to create a special place where everyone can feel comfortable and at home.

There's a wealth of things to do and people to do them with- it's up to you to decide whether and when to participate. If you want quiet time to paint or write, to stroll the neighborhood, to study or garden or cook, the choice is yours. However, if you'd like a brisk game of bridge, a junket to the Skagit Valley, some early-morning exercise, or an evening at the Symphony, it's all close at hand.

As with any place you've lived, your apartment at Ida Culver House Broadview is your home (complete with a full kitchen and washer/dryer unit). And when it comes to floor plans-from cozy one-bedroom units to grand three-bedroom suites-we've got something for everyone. We even have eight single-family homes with garages.

We include meal service, recreational programs, housekeeping and linen service, utilities (except private phone), 24-hour staffing, a resident call system and daily courtesy check-in, a secure environment, scheduled group transportation, maintenance-plus cable TV, with Ida Channel 22 (in-house info).

We also offer modern kitchens with appliances, picture windows with coverings, wall-to-wall carpeting, smoke detectors, sprinklers and a fire alarm system.

The Broadview Neighborhood

The Broadview neighborhood is a wonderful place to live. Close to Puget Sound, with many vistas and parks, Broadview boasts the amenities and charm of a classic, established Seattle neighborhood. Libraries, restaurants, shopping, parks and a community center are close at hand. Travel south to downtown Seattle, or north to the quaint shops and parks of Edmonds.

Your Health

One of the aspects residents tell us they like is our emphasis on healthy living. That is why we have the nutritious menu, the indoor pool, the exercise classes, and more. Our pioneering collaboration with the University of Washington School of Nursing gives Ida Culver House Broadview a unique combination of programs and resident care. We have a Health & Wellness Center on site, which offers health-care planning, health-promotion, blood-pressure testing, dental services, therapeutic massage, and foot care.

Wellness Without Walls®
The Health & Wellness Center on the premises is managed by a Registered Nurse. There is a professional team approach to assessing any major health concerns of community members and planning for future needs.

The Dr. Vivian Harlan Nursing Care Center

Should the need for more specialized care arise, we have two excellent programs. These accommodations are a separate, yet integrated, part of our campus. Assisted living apartments offer privacy and independence with a variety of personal-care services available (dressing, bathing, medication monitoring, etc.). The Dr. Vivian Harlan Nursing Care Center is a skilled-nursing facility with two units: one for cognitive care (for people with dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease) and one for rehabilitative and residential care.

It's good to know all of these services are offered, whether for a short recovery stay or for longer term care. Because all three levels of living (independent, assisted, and nursing care) are located on one campus, residents may not have to move to a new facility if circumstances change.
